iSplash: Rugged Boom Box for the Beach w/ iPod Storage Container
April 14th, 2006 1:07 PM | by Christen da CostaWe just can’t resist these made for iPod products. Reason we like this ditty is the convenience and practicality it brings to the beach, pool, or perhaps family BBQ. Sure, there are a million and one iPod boom box wannabees, but iSplash is a rugged and splash proof stereo with a retractable ZipConnect cable to directly hook in your iPod. You can then store away the iPod in the flip out storage container, charge your iPod and operate the tunes from the exterior controls, thus mitigating the risk of a sand filled or water logged iPod.
Available here for $150.

I checked out the Isplash at The Sharper Image and thought it looked like a very decent accessory for my ipod. It’s appealing to the eye and appears to have a rugged enterior that includes a strong carrying handle that also doubles as a base. The speakers look as well as sound solid and are well proctected. What I really like was how the Ipod can be safely and securely stored within the boom box to ensure that it is not damaged when in use. The Isplash also can be used with any MP3 player with it’s universal adapter, as well as the optional one for Ipod that allows one to both play a charge one’s unit simultaneously. The only thing that could be improved would be the volume of the unit, however, unless one needs head pounding sound, this unit should prove to be both durable and usefull in many, if not all situations.

Nice. It’s really perfectly made on iPods… Just take a look at the bichromatic color. :D
