Gigabyte Aorus AD27QD Review

The Gigabyte AORUS AD27QD and the Aorus FI27Q both have a 27-inch screen, an IPS panel, and matching ergonomics, but the FI27Q proves to be the better pick thanks to its wider HDR color gamut (86% coverage of the DCI-P3 color scale) compared to the AD27QD’s 70.4% coverage, and slightly better 1159:1 contrast ratio compared to the AD27QD’s 1063:1. The AD27QD, however, offers better color accuracy after calibration, with a Delta E score of 0.57.

The Gigabyte AD27QD is similar to the LG 27GL850-B as both have a 1440p screen and a 144Hz refresh rate, but the LG monitor is still more ideal for gaming thanks to an outstanding response time of 7.8ms (faster than the AD27QD’s 13ms) that translates to better motion handling. The AD27QD still offers better ergonomics and a higher 1063:1 contrast ratio.

Even though they both have dual HDMI 2.0 ports, the Gigabyte AD27QD is simply no match for the ASUS TUF VG27AQ, as the latter features a higher 165Hz refresh rate compared to its 144Hz, a higher 1247:1 contrast ratio against its 1063:1 ratio, and better ergonomics.

Even though the 27-inch Gigabyte AORUS AD27QD doesn’t offer as much screen real estate as the 32-inch Gigabyte M32Q, it has a higher pixel density of 109 PPI compared to the M32Q’s 93 PPI, and better ergonomics. The M32Q also gets brighter than the AD27QD when viewing HDR content, as it can hit a peak brightness level of 459 nits compared to the AD27QD’s 432 nits.
