The Gigabyte G27Q is an entry-level display that was released in mid-2020. The display also boasts good reflection handling, and even though it doesn’t feature on our list of the best computer monitors, it offers wide viewing angles that make it great for group viewing. It has an impressive 144Hz refresh rate that is quite common with many highly-rated gaming monitors and supports both FreeSync and G-Sync technologies. Similar to the HP Omen 27C, the monitor’s 3.7ms input lag is low for fast gaming responsiveness, and thanks to its wide color gamut and 93.4% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, the G27Q is a good option for users who want to do color-focused work.

Critics were quite happy with the Gigabyte G27Q’s affinity for gaming and credited this to its wide viewing angles, high refresh rate, and good color accuracy. They also liked that its 144Hz refresh rate led to a tear-free gaming experience. However, they were also let down by the low contrast ratio and lack of a local dimming feature.

our Verdict
Expert testers hailed the Gigabyte G27Q as a great entry-level display for gaming. Product testers from Toms Hardware were quite impressed with its 144Hz refresh rate as they affirmed that they did not encounter any screen tearing during their tests. Reviewers from Monitor Nerds also confirmed that the display had excellent viewing angles, unlike the Gigabyte Aorus FV43U. They were pleased that images did not deteriorate when viewed from the side. Its 93.4% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space also meant that it would be an excellent option for photo editing, and even though its ergonomics are not as good as those of the Gigabyte M34Q, they still allow for height and tilt adjustments.
Unfortunately, the G27Q left some reviewers a bit disappointed with its low contrast ratio and lack of a local dimming feature, issues that it shares with the Gigabyte Aorus AD27QD.
ReasonS to Buy
- High refresh rate
- Wide viewing angles
- Good color accuracy
- Good reflection handling
- Supports HDR content
Reason to Avoid
- Low contrast ratio

Still, the LG has a slightly faster 7.8ms response time compared to the G27Q’s 8.1ms, but both are great picks for gaming. |
