Product testers lauded the Lenovo Legion Y27Q-20, recommending it for gaming, but it also can work for office, and media creation. They praised its 165Hz refresh rate, FreeSync tech, and G-SYNC compatibility. For a device with a higher refresh rate, check out the Acer Predator x25 bmiiprzx review. Testers were however disappointed with this display’s low contrast ratio.

Consensus

our Verdict

The Lenovo Legion Y27Q-20 pleased product testers and they endorsed it for gaming. They found its 3.5 ms rise-and-fall response time to be very quick and they also praised its 165Hz refresh rate, which is much better than the 75Hz rate of the Lenovo Q27Q-10. This Lenovo display boasts FreeSync support and G-SYNC compatibility, and analysts found these very effective with motion handling during testing. It has IPS panel technology, and researchers found that it provides wide viewing angles, with colors only starting to shift horizontally after 51°. Tech Radar editors mentioned that this device handles reflections pretty well, and they recommended it for office use. Researchers at Digital Trends were impressed by this device’s 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, which is similar to the LG 27GP83B-B. It also fully covers the sRGB color space, and researchers endorsed it for content creation. They were pleased by the HDMI 2.0 inputs that support 4K. However, testers were disappointed by its low 851:1 contrast ratio, observing that black scenes appear grayish in dark rooms during their experiments. Consider the Lenovo D27-30 if you intend to operate primarily in dark conditions.
