Consensus

our Verdict

The De’Longhi Pinguino PACEX390LVYN is an excellent 14,000 BTU (ASHRAE 128) air conditioner for large rooms, thanks to its impressive cooling abilities and low power draw. With a cooling rate of about 6 degrees per minute, this device ranks around average for cooling effectiveness compared to other certified tested air conditioners. It has a handy remote control, and the built-in sensors can automate cooling. This model is relatively portable, measuring 16.7”  × 13.6”  × 34.5” and featuring wheels and a handle. However, its massive 83.3-pound weight means that it is very hard to lift. If you need a smaller air conditioner, be sure to check out our Tosot ASHRAE 8000 BTU review. The PACIX390LVYN is also easy to install.

Its noise level of 50 dB at the highest fan setting is very good. The AC has a removable washable air filter. It’s Energy Star certified, and it’s quite efficient. An intuitive control panel with buttons and an LED display that showcases the temperature and other info. However, it doesn’t have an app to support voice assistants.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Good cooling ability
    • The De’Longhi Pinguino AC is good for small and medium rooms, thanks to its 11,500 BTU cooling power. It cools at a rate of one degree per minute, which is around average compared to other air conditioners.

  • Low noise rating
    • With a noise rating of just 50 dB at its highest fan speed. This air cooler is relatively quiet and ranks in the top 25% compared to other air conditioners we have reviewed.

Reason to Avoid

  • Heavy
    • Although this is a portable model, users will find it challenging to lift this 83.3-pound unit up a flight of stairs.

  • Lacks smart features
    • This air cooler doesn’t have a mobile app and doesn’t work with voice assistants.

It also has a 24-hour electronic timer, which is more versatile than the 12-hour timer on the PACC100EC. However, the PACC100EC has a smaller power draw, costs less to buy, and is more portable.
