Product reviewers were quite pleased with how loud the Klipsch The One II speaker could get and its vintage design. They also commended it for its stereo output; however, they didn’t like that it didn’t have a graphic equalizer or WiFi connectivity.

Product Snapshot

Overview

The Klipsch The One II is a premium wired speaker meant for indoor use. Released in mid-2019, the speaker has an elegant retro design, and it is one of the best speakers to consider as part of any modern home. Available in walnut or matte black color trims, the speaker has an AUX input that can be used to wire older devices to it, and because of its low iOS and Android latency, it is an excellent pick for watching videos or listening to music since there won’t be any lag. Its build quality is also quite good, with a top and bottom covered with real wood veneer and a body tightly wrapped in fabric. This Klipsch speaker also has Bluetooth connectivity, but since it is wired, it is hard to rank it beside the highest-rated Bluetooth speakers on the market. If you’re looking for a wireless alternative, then our JBL Xtreme 3 review may be worth looking into, but for speakerphone and voice assistant functionality, consider the JBL Xtreme 2.

Consensus

our Verdict

The Klipsch The One II speaker was lauded by expert testers for its mid-century modern design and how loud it could get. Product testers from Rtings liked that the speaker got very loud during their tests, with a maximum level of 99.1 dB. Experts from Input Mag also hailed it for its stereo output and decent bass depth. They were also impressed with its sound quality and lauded it for its ease of use.

Still, its acoustic performance can’t compare to that of the best soundbar for dialogue, and testers were also disappointed with its lack of a graphic equalizer and WiFI connectivity.

The Klipsch The One II gets louder than the JBL Charge 5 and can play stereo content as is, while the Charge 5 will have to downmix it into mono. However, the Charge 5 can be controlled through the JBL Portable app, while the Klipsch speaker does not have an app.
