Product Snapshot

Overview

The Samsung Odyssey G7 is one of the best computer monitors that was announced in 2021. It has a 4K screen, so its picture quality is as sharp as some of the best gaming monitors in its category. It also has a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth graphics and two HDMI 2.1 inputs, as opposed to the Samsung G5 which has only one – more about it in our Samsung Odyssey G5 LC27G55T review. It can render HDR content and being an IPS display, it also has wide viewing angles for co-op gaming. Ergonomics are great, while its 99% sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage allows for decent color accuracy.

Released as an update to the Samsung G7 (see our Samsung Odyssey G7 LC32G75T review), the Samsung Odyssey G7 LS28AG70 (otherwise known as the Samsung G70A – This review) comes through with a sharper 4K screen, better motion handling, and improved viewing angles.

The Samsung G70A faces tough competition from the LG 27GP950-B courtesy of its higher 160Hz refresh rate and significantly higher peak brightness levels.

Just like the Acer Predator XB271HK, which we’ve covered in our Acer Predator XB271HK 4K 27 gaming monitor review, the G70A still holds its own with impressive ergonomics, but the 27GP950-B ultimately crosses the finish line first with its wider color gamut and slightly faster 7.5ms response time.

The G70A is pretty much neck and neck with the Gigabyte M28U since the G70A has slightly better color accuracy, but the M28U balances this out with its marginally faster 7.7ms response time.
