Product Snapshot
Overview
Released in 2021, the Shark ION Robot R77 is a basic robot vacuum cleaner that can hold up to 0.4-liters of debris in its dirt compartment.
Similar to the best vacuum cleaners on the market, the R77 has excellent build quality, and it also comes with WiFi connectivity to allow for remote operation.
Once the R77 is connected to a smartphone through the SharkClean app, users can schedule cleaning times, switch between its power settings, and configure voice control through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
Its battery provides up to 190 minutes of run time, which is pretty standard for top rated robot vacuums, and much longer than the 8-minute battery life of the Shark ION W1 WANDVAC, as you’ll see in our Shark ION W1 WANDVAC review.
Consensus
our Verdict
The Shark ION Robot R77 was hailed by reviewers for its long battery life and its impressive automation features. Experts from Rtings could carry on their cleaning tests for up to 158 minutes while on its ECO setting.
They also liked that it could operate for up to 190 minutes when switched to its Max setting and that they were able to monitor the battery level. When put to the test, the R77 delivered its best performance on bare floors, as it could pick up 95% and 100% of large and small debris.
However, reviewers noted that it struggled considerably on carpets, picking up only 21% and 16% of small debris from high and low pile rugs. Top-tier experts from Trusted Reviews were not too happy that the vacuum cleaner did not feature a Lidar navigation system.
This is common with premium robot vacuums, as you’ll see in our Wyze Robot Vacuum review, but unfortunately for the R77, reviewers noted that it wasn’t as targeted and precise during its cleaning.
