Product testers lauded the Shark Vertex Pro’s outstanding ability to clean high pile carpets and hard floors. They were also pleased with its maneuverability and appreciated its LED status screen. However, it has high maintenance requirements, a long charging duration, and struggles with fine debris on low pile rugs.

Product Snapshot

Overview

The Shark Vertex Pro is an entry-level cordless vacuum released in 2020. It offers up to 60 minutes of runtime and a decent dirt compartment that can hold up to 0.7-liters of debris.

With a weight of only 8.95 pounds, it is easier to maneuver than some of the top-rated vacuum cleaners on the market, and with a noise output of only 69.8 decibels, it is quieter than another popular Shark variant that you can read about on our Shark Vertex UltraLight Corded review.

The Shark Vertex Pro also has a flexible wand that allows easy cleaning under furniture. For cleaning different surfaces, it ships with an anti-allergen dust brush, a crevice tool, and a combination upholstery tool/hard bristle brush pet multi-tool.

The Vertex Pro also has a HEPA anti-allergen filter to filter out 99.999% of allergens and an OK suction power rating of 0.98 kPa.

Consensus

our Verdict

Product testers praised the Shark Vertex Pro for how well suitable it was for cleaning hard floors and high pile carpets. The testing team at Rtings used it to pick up 97% and 100% of large and small debris and verified that it could clean up to 90% and 53% of large and small litter on high pile rugs.

Product reviewers from Digitweek were also impressed that it came with a display screen, which, as you’ll see on our Shark Wandvac System WS620 review, is missing on the WS620.

On this LED display screen, they could read the vacuum’s battery level, suction power mode, and the surface type setting. They also appreciated its maneuverability and its lightweight.

However, testers weren’t very impressed with its high maintenance requirements since many of its parts require constant cleaning. They also didn’t like that it struggled with cleaning fine debris on low pile carpet.

  • Low noise output
  • LED screen for status display
