Launched in 2023, the Anker Soundcore Motion X600 is a mid-range, high-fidelity speaker that comes in three colors (polar gray, lunar blue, and aurora green). Like the best speakers, it houses five drivers and amplifiers for spatial audio and has a 9-band graphic EQ and a 334.6 ft Bluetooth range. It has an advertised 12-hour battery life and a fully waterproof IPX7 rating frequently seen in the best Bluetooth speakers. There is a 3.5mm AUX port and Bluetooth connectivity (version 5.3), but no Wi-Fi and built-in voice-assistant support. Moreover, you can use the Soundcore app to control the speaker through your mobile device.

The Anker Soundcore Motion X600 justifies its mid-range price with accurate bass and treble, loud volume, fairly long battery life, and a portable build. However, the understated midrange and slight volume compression are minor inconveniences.

Consensus
our Verdict
Excelling in open spaces, the mid-range Anker Soundcore Motion X600 reproduces accurate bass and treble and distinct vocals. Sitting in the top third of our certified, tested speakers, it has a broad frequency response between 54.2Hz (low frequency) and 19100Hz (high frequency). Although lacking fullness, the mids don’t sound entirely hollow, and its satisfactory 10-hour battery life should suffice during full-day trips.
The speakers have a tough plastic body and sturdy metal grilles that protect the drivers inside. Plus, the IPX7 rating and waterproof cover guarantee water resistance during pool parties, and its aluminum handle makes it easily portable. While it’s loud with a 92.1dB volume output, you’ll notice some compression at max volume, particularly in the bass range.
ReasonS to Buy
- Well-rounded bass and treble
The Anker Soundcore Motion X600 is built for listening to a wide range of music in spacious environments, with a wide frequency response, its low (54.2Hz) and high (19100 Hz) frequency extension ranking among the top third of verified, tested speakers.
While the low-bass extension is slightly lacking, the treble and vocals are accurately detailed. Read this Bose Portable Smart Speaker review for an option with superior low-extension bass.
- Average battery life
It provides a satisfactory 10 hours of playback time on a single charge, ranking in the bottom third of our certified, tested list. It also features a power-saving mode that switches off the speaker when idle.
- Loud volume output
Its 92.1dB volume output provides ample loudness to fill open spaces, securing a place in the first half of our tested, verified products.
- Durable build
Its sturdy plastic body and aluminum handle can take some rough handling, and the strong metal grilles safeguard the internal drivers.
Also, with an IPX7 rating and rear waterproof cover, it can withstand water splashes, making it suitable for beach or poolside use. And for a lighter model with an IPX7 rating, read our JBL Flip 4 review.
- Easily portable
It includes a built-in handle to carry on the go, and at 4.2 lbs, it’s not too heavy.
Reason to Avoid
- Slightly underwhelming mids
The mid-range, though not completely hollow, lacks richness and is underrepresented.
- Compression at max volume
At maximum volume, you may notice some compression in the bass range. For clear audio, it’s advisable to listen at lower volumes.

The Soundcore 2 is better suited for relatively smaller spaces as it doesn’t get very loud. The Motion X600 reproduces superior audio, offers a wide frequency response, better low-frequency extension for deeper bass, and includes a 9-band graphic EQ and sound presets. The only advantage of the Soundcore 2 is its lighter weight, enhancing portability. |

However, the Hyperboom excels with minimal compression at maximum volume, unlike the Motion X600. The Hyperboom has a significantly longer battery life, can pair up to two devices simultaneously, and has a more expansive soundstage. Nonetheless, the Motion X600 has better controls with superior playback functionality. To learn more, check our Ultimate Ears Hyperboom review here. |

It has a room correction tool that adjusts sounds based on your room’s acoustics and boasts in-built voice assistance support, a 360-degree soundstage, and AirPlay functionality. The Motion X600, however, offers a higher volume output and more customization options with its nine-band graphic EQ. For more information, read this Apple HomePod 2nd Generation review. |
