Consensus

our Verdict

The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro is a tri-band WiFi 6 router that’s built with heavy online gamers in mind. It delivers great download speed, testing at 505 Mbps on 5 GHz, placing it in the top third of the category. However, on a 2.4 GHz band, the download speed comes in at 48 Mbps, which is in the bottom 10% of routers. It also has a shorter coverage range, and connections drop out at about 90 feet.

In addition to great 5 GHz speed, it offers some great game-enhancing features like bandwidth prioritization, anti-malware tools, and RGB settings, which are accessible through the ASUS Mobile app. The router also has many great security features and parental controls found in the ASUS AiProtection settings menu.

It is easy to use through the mobile app and web interface and takes about 10 minutes to create a network. There’s plenty of room for connecting external devices, as it offers 2 USB and 5 LAN ports.

However, the GT-AX11000 has faster download speeds at a 5 GHz band, 505 Mbps, compared to the ZenWiFi’s 288 Mbps. The GT-AX11000 has a slightly better connection range, 28 meters, as opposed to the ZenWiFi’s 27 meters. The GT-AX11000 is also better for external connectivity, as the router has 2 USB ports while the ZenWiFi has only 1. The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro is an upgrade to the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000, which came out three years prior. While they are similar in many ways, the Pro has a more powerful 2GHz quad-core CPU the GT-AX11000 has a 1.8GHz processor. The also adds an additional LAN port. Also, the Pro has an advanced USB 3.2 port, while the previous version only reaches USB 3.0. Another difference is that the Pro has unremovable antennas, and the previous versions are detachable.
