Testers liked that the Black+Decker AdvancedClean+ could handle debris on bare floors and also commended its relatively large dirt bin size. They liked that it had a strong suction force and shipped with a few tools. Still, its lack of a HEPA filter and plasticky build quality was not appreciated, and it struggled with stains.

Product Snapshot
Overview
The Black+Decker dustbuster AdvancedClean+ is a basic handheld vacuum cleaner announced in 2017. The cleaner works well on high and low pile carpets and has no problem picking up pet dander from any surface.
It has a decent 13-minute battery life, and although it doesn’t last as long as some of the best vacuum cleaners around, it is still a fantastic option for quick cleaning.
It has got a standard-sized 0.7-liter dirt compartment that is larger than the Dyson D7 Animal’s 0.54-liter bin size and a shorter 231-minute charge time compared to the Dyson Outsize Absolute’s 270-minute charge duration.
At only 73.1 decibels, its noise level is slightly lower than the 75,1 dB produced by the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus, and since it also features a rotating head, it is also pretty easy to maneuver around furniture.
Consensus
our Verdict
Product reviewers were delighted with how well the Black+Decker AdvancedClean+ Pet could pick up 100% of small and large debris on bare floors, and 60 – 79% of small and large debris on low pile carpets.
Reviewers from Rtings liked that it had two suction power settings, which is an attribute it shares with the Dyson Humdinger. During their tests, they discovered that the AdvancedClean+ had a powerful suction force of 3.36 kPa when on Boost Mode, which would drain out its battery in 13 minutes.
Its normal suction force (1.84 kPa) would do the same in 29 minutes. Testers from Popular Vacuums also experimented with the extra-long crevice tool and the motorized pet power brush attachment it ships with.
However, the lack of a HEPA anti-allergen filter on the cordless pet hand vacuum disappointed testers. They also didn’t like the plasticky build quality and were not pleased with its inability to clean stains.

The Black+Decker AdvancedClean+ cordless hand vacuum is no match for the Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ as far as build quality is concerned, but it does have a larger 0.7-liter dirt compartment compared to the Shark’s 0.4-liter dirt bin. However, the Shark is much easier to handle as it weighs 2.27 pounds compared to the AdvancedClean+’s 2.78-pound weight.

The Black+Decker AdvancedClean+ cordless handheld vacuum has a much larger 0.7-liter dirt compartment compared to the Bissel AeroSlim, which only has a 0.1-liter dirt bin. The Bissell vacuum is, however, much lighter, weighing only 1.3 pounds compared to the Black+Decker’s 2.78-pound weight.
