Product Snapshot
Overview
The Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless gaming headset is a mid-ter pair first announced in 2022. Available in black, white, or pearl trim, the headset delivers an immersive 7.1-channel surround sound experience that it shares with top-rated gaming headsets, and its battery allows for up to 20 hours of gameplay. Charging takes 3.8 hours, and you can use them while charging.
The headset relies on a USB dongle for wireless connectivity, with a wireless range of up to 60ft. The omnidirectional microphone is detachable and offers good performance. You can fine-tune the bass, mids, and highs through the intuitive Corsair iCue app, which offers a graphic equalizer and presets.
Consensus
our Verdict
Out of the box, the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless gaming headset offers a warm sound profile with good bass accuracy and passable mids and highs that should suit most in-game needs. The output can still be finetuned through the user-friendly iCUE app, and the same also applies to its surround sound performance and RGB lighting. Recording quality is also top-tier, as the detachable microphone accurately picks up sound, resulting in clear and elaborate speech devoid of ambient noise, thanks to its impressive noise handling.
The battery lasts 20 hours, but its 3.8-hour charge time is quite long. The headset also doesn’t feature noise cancellation, and unfortunately, their control scheme misses out on music and phone controls.
ReasonS to Buy
Above-average sound quality
Games will sound great, even though mids and highs are passable out of the box, the bass accuracy is excellent, and the support for surround sound makes for an immersive gaming experience.
Owners can also customize the sound through the intuitive iCue app.
Decent comfort
At 0.86 pounds, the headset may be heavy for some, but both its ear cups and headband are well padded.
Exceptional microphone quality
The Virtuoso RGB offers impeccable sound capture, as recordings sound clear and well-detailed. The microphone is great for in-game chat and detachable for added convenience
It ranks in the top 25% compared to other alternatives in its category, but on the other hand, its speech-to-noise ratio is average, ranking it in the top 50% compared to other headsets on our certified-tested list.
Reason to Avoid
Long charging time
The Virtuoso RGB takes 3.8 hours to charge, which is quite long.

The Virtuoso RGB also has a longer 60ft wireless range compared to the Void RGB Elite, with its 40ft range. Finally, the Virtuoso RGB has a more expansive 20Hz to 40kHz frequency range. We’ve covered it in our Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless review.

The Corsair Virtuoso RGB is a closed-back gaming headset, making it different from the Corsair Virtuoso Pro, which has an open-back enclosure. Also, users can customize the sound output on the Virtuoso RGB through the iCUE app, but this isn’t possible for the Virtuoso Pro since it doesn’t have a companion app. Feel free to check it out in our Corsair Virtuoso Pro review if you’re interested.

The Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless uses a USB-C charging port, making it different from the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless, which uses a micro-USB charging port, but the Steelseries takes a shorter 1.3 hours to charge compared to the Corsair Virtuoso RGB, which takes up to 3.8 hours. The Corsair Virtuoso also relies on a 2.4 GHz connection, which differentiates it from the SteelSeries Arctis Pro, which connects to devices via Bluetooth.
