The Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless is an excellent pick for anyone needing a comfortable, wireless headset with no lag. However, its battery is quickly drained by RGB lighting.

Product Snapshot

Overview

The Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless headset is an entry-level gaming headset that was first introduced into the market in late 2022. The headset offers 7.1 channel surround sound for situational and object awareness when gaming, and since it is equipped with 50mm high-density neodymium audio drivers, it offers exceptional audio clarity. Like many best gaming headsets, the Void RGB Elite offers highly accurate wireless connectivity thanks to its 2.4GHz connection, and its wireless range spans up to 40 feet.

The Corsair Void RGB also offers up to 16 hours of battery life, and weighing only 399g, it does not exert much pressure on the wearer’s head.

Consensus

our Verdict

The Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless headset is comfortable for long gaming sessions since it comes with breathable microfibre mesh fabric as part of its ear cup padding. The headset also feels quite sturdy because of its solid construction, which consists of aluminum yokes. There are also on-ear volume controls for added convenience and a detachable omnidirectional microphone.

In terms of sound quality, the Corsair Void RGB Elite boasts 7.1 channel surround sound, but the configurations for this will have to be done through its user-friendly iCUE app. However, owners will be able to make finer adjustments to the sound quality through the app, and courtesy of its 2.4GHz connection, there’s no lag.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Great sound quality
    • Support for 7.1 channel surround sound makes the Corsair Void RGB Elite great for players who want to have both an immersive listening experience and absolute situational awareness when gaming.

  • Excellent comfort
    • The ear cups on this headset have a breathable microfibre mesh fabric that keeps the wearer comfortable during extended use.

  • Good omnidirectional microphone
    • The microphone on this headset is detachable, and it also captures sound clearly for problem-free dialogue.

Reason to Avoid

  • RGB lighting drains the battery quickly
    • The Void’s RGB battery very quickly drains the headset’s 16-hour battery.

The Corsair Void RGB Elite’s sound leakage performance doesn’t quite match up to that of the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT, and additionally, the Virtuoso RGB Wireless also has a detachable boom microphone, which the Void Elite does not. However, the Void Elite does have Surround Sound support, which the Virtuoso RGB Wireless lacks. Check it out in our Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless review.

The Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless headset has a 16-hour battery life, which doesn’t match up to the 40-hour battery life of the Epos H3PRO Hybrid. Also different is that the H3PRO can connect to devices through Bluetooth, while the Corsair Void RGB cannot, as wireless connectivity is limited to its 2.4GHz USB dongle. We’ve also covered the H3PRO in our EPOS H3PRO Hybrid review, however, if you’d prefer earbuds over a headset, then you might be interested in our EPOS GTW 270 hybrid review.

In terms of battery life, the Corsair Void RGB Elite lasts up to 16 hours, making it inferior to the Corsair H65 Gaming headset, which lasts up to 35 hours. Also, the Void RGB obviously has RGB lighting, but this is missing from the H65. See what else the H65 has in store by reading our Corsair H65 Surround review, and since both are 7.1 surround sound headphones, you might want to see how they compare to 5.1 headphones. We’ve covered that in our 5.1 vs 7.1 gaming headset roundup.
