A sub-1ms response time, excellent picture quality, and HDMI 2.1 make the Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240 appealing to gamers. The risk of burn-in and higher costs may turn others away.

Consensus

our Verdict

The Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240 gaming monitor offers a blazing-fast and smooth gaming experience thanks to its 240Hz refresh rate, VRR support, and ultra-low 0.78ms response time. These features and more make it an excellent choice for competitive gamers, but its higher price tag may turn away more casual gamers.

The Corsair’s OLED panel also means you get fantastic overall picture quality with true blacks, wide viewing angles, and fantastic reflection handling. Unfortunately, OLED’s lower overall brightness levels mean the display struggles with glare in well-lit rooms. The 1440p display resolution creates a good combination of performance and image quality for gamers. The Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240 also provides HDMI 2.1 compatibility for console gamers and a built-in KVM switch for productivity users.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Excellent OLED Picture Quality
    • OLED panels offer fantastic picture quality with near-infinite contrast levels that create perfect black uniformity. This means your display will look truly black during dark scenes instead of gray, like you see on other monitors.

    • The Corsair Xeneon also offers a 1440p display resolution for a sharper, more detailed picture quality.

  • Ultra-Fast Response Time
    • With a tested 0.78ms response time, this monitor ranks in the top 10% of gaming monitors tested. If you play fast-paced or competitive games, this is an excellent choice.

  • Low Input Lag
    • This Corsair gaming monitor offers an input lag of 13.55ms, which means that you’ll get a near-instantaneous response on the display after you click a button on your mouse or keyboard. This is on par with the average input lag for monitors in this category.

  • High Refresh Rate and VRR Support
    • With a high refresh rate of 240Hz and support for VRR technology like NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync, the Corsair Xeneon creates a smooth motion-handling experience with minimal screen tearing.

Reason to Avoid

  • Lower Peak Brightness Levels
    • OLED displays don’t offer high brightness levels, especially when compared to standard LED alternatives. This Corsair monitor offers a peak brightness of 317 nits, which will struggle with glares in well-lit rooms.

  • Higher Input Lag with Different Refresh Rates
    • While the Corsair’s input lag at 240Hz is excellent, it struggles with input lag at lower refresh rates. It features a 10ms input lag at 120Hz and a 20mz input lag at 60Hz, which isn’t great for gaming purposes.

  • Potential OLED Burn-In
    • All OLED displays run the risk of burn-in, especially with static pieces of the display. This is less of a risk for gamers because the image constantly changes. However, burn-in is a much more considerable risk for productivity users who often experience static portions of applications for extended periods of use

The Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240 is the brand’s only OLED gaming monitor, and it offers a higher 240Hz refresh compared to options like the Xeneon 315QHD165 with its 165Hz refresh rate. The OLED option is also one of the brand’s most expensive displays, but it only offers a 1440p display resolution compared to the brand’s similarly-priced Xeneon 32UHD144.

The Corsair Xeneon offers an incredibly similar feature set and functionality to the ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQDM, which is also an OLED gaming monitor. They both offer 240Hz refresh rates, but the Corsair offers a faster response time and support for HDMI 2.1 connectivity, which is better for console gaming. The Corsair’s OLED panel offers better picture quality than the Razer Raptor 27, but the Razer offers a lower input lag at 5ms compared to the Corsair’s 13.55ms. Both the Corsair and the Alienware AW2723DF offer 240Hz refresh rates, but the Corsair still wins in terms of picture quality thanks to its ability to create perfect blacks.
