FromSoftware has released the highly anticipated Patch 1.13 for Elden Ring, following a period of server maintenance across all platforms. This update brings a host of significant changes, including PvP-exclusive balance adjustments, quality-of-life improvements, and bug fixes that are sure to enhance your gaming experience.
Elden Ring has been a massive commercial success, selling an impressive 25 million copies since its release. The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has also performed exceptionally well, with five million copies sold in just three days despite its demanding system requirements. This is a testament to the game’s dedicated fan base.
Key Changes and Improvements
Patch 1.13 brings a host of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. One of the most notable changes is the adjustment to the default selection of the OK/CANCEL prompt when using the Spectral Steed Whistle while the spectral steed is dead. This change now sets the default selection position to OK, making it easier for players to quickly summon their steed in critical situations. As PC gamer points out, this was a major annoyance for players, so it is a very welcome fix.
The update also includes adjustments to PvP equipment, skills, and spells as well as some general balance adjustments. However, the issue with localization staff credits, which was introduced in update 1.12, is still pending resolution, according to IGN. FromSoftware has acknowledged this issue and has promised to address it in a future update.
