Product Snapshot
Overview
The Hisense U7H is a mid-tier 4K ULED TV that was released in 2022. The TV is able to deliver very high picture quality courtesy of its Quantum Dot technology, and it also has a fairly mid-range HDR brightness rating of 575 nits. The TV offers good reflection handling and a native contrast ratio of 4,981:1, which is great for deep blacks and bright whites.
The best TVs and many top-end 4K TVs have higher contrast ratios, but the U7H’s color gamut is also wide, with a 95% coverage of the DCI P3 color space. Even though its color accuracy is pretty low out-of-the-box, it gets significantly better after calibration, and it also has local dimming.
One of the major letdowns of the U7H is its viewing angles, but other than that, the display can upscale low-resolution content.
Consensus
our Verdict
The Hisense U7H TV is a 4K display that offers a high peak HDR brightness rating of 575 nits, combating glare in well-lit environments, and a good tested contrast ratio of 4,891:1 that delivers deep blacks and bright whites via its local dimming feature. The TV also delivers a rich, well-defined picture quality courtesy of its 95% coverage of the DCI P3 color space, and inputs consist of 4 HDMI and 2 USB ports.. Avid gamers will appreciate VRR support plus FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility.
Reflections are well-handled thanks to its semi-gloss finish, and its Google TV interface is user-friendly. Unfortunately, its 13.6ms response time is quite slow, resulting in motion trails. Its viewing angles are also bad, as images appear washed from 36° off center.
