Product Snapshot
Overview
The 27-inch HP E27M G4 is a mid-tier office display announced in 2021. It has a 1440p screen resolution and a widescreen form factor with a 16:9 screen ratio. Designed with virtual conferencing in mind, the E27M G4 has a built-in 5MP webcam, maintaining good visibility with a 300-nit brightness rating. The best computer monitors on the market are, however, much brighter.
The E27M G4 also offers a 5ms response time and has one DisplayPort, one HDMI port, four USB ports, and a single 3.5mm earphone jack. Adjustability is also top tier, as users can tilt and swivel the display or adjust its height.

Consensus
our Verdict
The E27M G4 is a middle-of-the-road office display that should live up to most people’s video conferencing needs. While its 300-nit brightness rating is pretty average compared to other high-ranking monitors, the display stays bright enough to maintain visibility in well-lit settings, and with a 99% coverage of the sRGB color scale, it secures a top 10% placement on our certified, tested list compared to other alternatives.
Unfortunately, the E27M G4 misses out on HDR, and its 1000:1 contrast ratio doesn’t quite keep blacks dark in black scenes. The E27M G4’s all-around adjustability makes it easy to customize, and with 4 USB ports plus one HDMI port, its connectivity is decent.
ReasonS to Buy
- Good Image quality
The G4 is a productivity-focused office display with standard image quality courtesy of its 300-nit brightness rating, which is average when compared to other displays in our certified, tested list.
Color accuracy is top-notch, as its 99% coverage of the sRGB color scale places it in the top 10% of our list compared to other alternatives in this category.
- Low input lag
There aren’t any perceivable delays on the E27M G4, as the display has a low 9ms input lag, which is slightly above average compared to other alternatives in our list of certified, tested computer monitors.
- Average 75Hz refresh rate
While it is pretty standard for most office monitors, the 75Hz refresh rate on the G4 is still good enough to keep any screen tearing at bay. However, an alternative with a much higher refresh rate is the Samsung Odyssey G5 LC27G55T.
Reason to Avoid
- Low contrast ratio
Blacks don’t appear as deep and dark on the E27M G4 monitor because of its reasonably low 1000:1 static contrast ratio.
