While the iRobot H1 impressed experts with its maneuverability and overall cleaning performance, they were not as enthusiastic about its maintenance costs and small dirt compartment.

Product Snapshot

Overview

The iRobot H1 is an entry-level handheld vacuum cleaner released to the market in 2021. Although its 0.3-liter dirt compartment may not be as large as some of the best vacuum cleaners, it is still pretty good for home use.

Similar to many highly rated robot vacuum cleaners, the H1 is also equipped with an anti-allergy HEPA filter that removes allergens from the air, and just like the Miele Triflex HX1, it has pretty good build quality.

Weighing 3.79 pounds, the H1 is pretty easy to move around, and with a noise output of only 78.9 decibels, which can get as loud as 88.7 dB.

The H1 has a respectable maximum suction force of 2.02 kPa, but users can switch between this and its standard suction (1.36 kPa) depending on the cleaning they want to do.

Consensus

our Verdict

The iRobot H1 garnered praise from critics thanks to how well built it was and how easy it was to move around. Testers from Rtings praised its dual filtration process and its maneuverability.

They didn’t have any issues with its 3.79-pound weight, and although its 0.3-liter dirt compartment isn’t as large as the 0.6-liter dirt bin of the Hoover ONEPWR cordless hand vacuum, it is good enough for one round of cleaning.

The iRobot H1 also impressed reviewers with how well it cleaned up 100% of pet hair and 79% to 87% of large debris from bare floors and high and low pile carpets, respectively.

Mashable also liked that the cleaner shipped with an upholstery tool, a crevice tool, and a 2-in-1 combination tool. These are great for cleaning stairs and furniture.

Unfortunately, the H1’s filters require replacement every three to six months, which is expensive for some users. This makes it more costly than the HoLife HM036E to maintain. Also, some testers felt that its dirt compartment is small.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Easy to maneuver
  • Low noise output
  • Lightweight and portable

With a weight of 3.79 pounds, the iRobot H1 is a lot lighter than the Dyson V15 Detect, which weighs 6.46 pounds. However, the V15 has a lower noise output of 70.5 decibels than the iRobot H1, which gets as loud as 78.9 dB. Also, the V15 has a longer runtime of 75 minutes compared to the iRobot H1, which can only last up to 25 minutes.

The iRobot H1’s 25-minute battery life does not last as long as the 112-minute run time of the LG CordZero A9, but it charges up a lot faster because it has a decent charge time of about 205 compared to the A9’s 372 minutes.

The iRobot H1’s battery life of 25 minutes is outmatched by the iRobot Roomba i3, which has a much longer run time of up to 90 minutes. The i3 also has a larger dirt bin that can hold up to 0.5-liters of dirt, which is slightly more than the H1’s 0.3-liter capacity.
