While the LG 32UL500-W might have impressed testers with its sharp picture quality and high contrast ratio, they were not as impressed with its mediocre viewing angles, low 60Hz refresh rate and arguably long 19.9ms response time.

Product Snapshot

Overview

The LG 32UL500-W is an entry-level display that was announced to the market in mid-2020. Its color gets super accurate after calibration, averaging about 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. This is an attribute that is pretty easy to spot among some of the best computer monitors in the market, and with support for HDR, content appears sharp and vivid. This LG monitor also has dual 2.0 HDMI ports and decent text clarity thanks to a pixel density of 138 PPI. The display also features a high contrast ratio of 2883:1, and as is the norm with highly-rated gaming monitors, it also supports a Variable Refresh Rate. Like the LG 27GP950, its 4K screen resolution delivers good picture clarity, and its reflection handling is also pretty good, thanks to its matte screen finish

Consensus

our Verdict

Reviewers have praised the LG 32UL500-W as a 32-inch monitor that is great for office use and media creation. Its 4K screen resolution garnered praise from critics at Display Ninja, as they were pleased with how crisp details and text appeared on the monitor during their experiments. They also confirmed that its impressive 2883:1 contrast ratio made it a perfect alternative to the LG 32GP850-B during their tests, since its 1037:1 ratio isn’t high enough to deliver deep blacks when viewed in a dark room. The display also had reviewers from Rtings impressed with its low input lag of 10.2ms, as they found out that the display had excellent gaming responsiveness.

Still, reviewers were not as impressed with its narrow viewing angles and long 19.9ms response time. Its poor ergonomics also made the LG 32UL950-W seem like a more likely alternative, and its low 60Hz refresh rate is likely to scare gamers away.
