Product Snapshot

Overview

Released in 2020, the Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS is a high-end closed-back wireless gaming headset that offers large 50 mm dynamic sound drivers with sound output compatibility for PCs, Macs, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5s. Similar to some of the best-rated gaming headsets out on the market, it comes with a boom mic for in-game voice chats and Discord calls, but the mic doesn’t work with consoles.

If you want a headset with a mic for consoles, visit our Logitech G335 review. Unfortunately, the Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS lacks active noise canceling. If you need ANC, read our JBL Tour One review. It also lacks in-line controls.

Consensus

our Verdict

The Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS is a gaming-first headset. Its audio quality has a high-frequency range, resulting in clear, balanced audio across bass, mids, and trebles. Additionally, the microphone records well and is rated 8.1/10, placing it in the top 25% of gaming mics.

It is great for long gaming sessions, as it’s designed for comfort with memory foam padding and a headband designed to distribute weight to reduce fatigue. It also has an extensive battery life of 23.9 hours of continuous playback. A companion app allows users to adjust the sound to meet their specific demands and a BLUE VO!CE function for configuring mic levels.

ReasonS to Buy

  • High-Grade Audio Quality
    • This impressive gaming headset produces clear, accurate sound, as it has a great 20-20,000 Hz frequency range.

    • Gamers have many options for modifying sound preferences with the Logitech G Hub companion app, which offers features like graphic EQ, audio presets, and the BLUE VO!CE function that allows for detailed mic level adjustments.

  • Comfortable Design
    • They are comfortable during long gaming sessions, as the cups have high-quality memory foam for padding. It also has two sets of pads–cloth and faux leather. The cups are deep and don’t crowd the ear or cause fatigue.

  • High-Performance Mic
    • The recording comes through clearly and naturally, as the headset has a mic that’s rated 8.1 out of ten, placing it in the top 25% of the category.

    • Vocals come through crisp and clean during gameplay. The mic has a tested speech-to-noise ratio of 70.86 dB, placing it in the top 5% of the gaming headset category.

Reason to Avoid

  • Compatibility Limitations
    • Xbox One gamers will not be able to use this headset as it isn’t compatible with the console. It only works with PC and Playstation devices.

  • Limited Controls
    • Users don’t have a lot of ability to adjust their headset on the fly, given the controls are limited to volume and mute/unmute.

The Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS headset is significantly more comfortable for a wider range of users to game on for longer hours than the Logitech G733, thanks to its slightly looser fit. Another big reason for it being comfier is that the Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS headset comes with two sets of replaceable ear pads included in the box, whereas the Logitech G733 only provides cloth textured cushions. On the other hand, the Logitech G733 has a slightly broader overall soundstage compared to the G PRO X headset despite both featuring closed-back enclosures.

While both the SteelSeries Arctis Pro and the Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS headphones feature wireless connectivity, the SteelSeries Arctis Pro also supports Bluetooth 4.1 with multi-device pairing. This makes the SteelSeries Arctis Pro compatible with a much wider range of devices in comparison to the Logitech G PRO X model, which only has proprietary wireless connectivity and does not support multi-device pairing. However, the SteelSeries Engine app only has a mic mute switch against the G Hub software that you can use to adjust the mic level manually.

The Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS headset features a significantly better boom mic compared to the ROCCAT Syn Pro Air for in-game voice chats and Discord calls. But, the ROCCAT Syn Pro Air’s mic features a better noise canceling algorithm for a clearer voice pick-up. Unlike the ROCCAT Syn Pro Air, the Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS headset comes with a carrying pouch. It comes with two sets of ear pads (leather and velour), whereas the Syn Pro Air only has cloth padding. For more, check out our Logitech G435 Lightspeed review.

The Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS is the newer version of the original Logitech G PRO X wired headset that, as the name suggests, offers proprietary wireless connectivity. The Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS also offers a slightly more neutral and nuanced sound quality than the older Logitech G PRO X. Additionally, the Logitech G PRO X WIRELESS has a better boom mic for in-game voice chats and Discord calls. But, unlike the wireless model, the G PRO X is compatible with all Xbox consoles. Visit our Logitech G PRO X review to learn more about the older model.
