Consensus

our Verdict

The Mobile Pixels Duex Plus pleased product testers and they recommended it for on-the-go work. They were pleased with its 1080p resolution, observing that it provides crisp text. Analysts at PC Mag loved its portable design, and they praised its case that mounts to the back of the laptop, offering a side-by-side view with the laptop screen. Although this device proved to have a reasonable 9.1 ms input lag during testing, analysts bemoaned its very slow 19.2 ms rise-and-fall response time, saying that it’s unsuitable for use as a gaming monitor. It has a 60Hz refresh rate, which was deemed okay for office work and slow-paced gamers but inadequate for fast-moving games. Users seeking a gaming monitor should consider our LG 32GN50T-B review. Additionally, the Mobile Pixels monitor has a limited color gamut, covering just 64.4% of the sRGB color space. As a result, reviewers couldn’t recommend this device for content creation workflows. They were also unimpressed by its so-so 979:1 contrast ratio, which results in poor black levels in dark rooms.
