With comfortable padding and good build quality, the NYPOT Premium is worth considering for fans of kneeling chairs, though the weight limit is low, and it’s not recommended for those with knee problems.

Product Snapshot
Overview
Introduced in 2021, the Nypot Premium Ergonomic Kneeling Chair is the brand’s mid-range ergonomic, posture-friendly office chair. Like most of the best office chairs on the market, it comes with high-quality upholstery and plenty of adjustable features. Unlike most other office chairs, it’s designed to support a more orthopedic kneeling position. It lacks a backrest for upper body support, providing adjustable soft knee pads instead. The curved base allows rocking movement.
The durable foam padding isn’t as soft as traditional office chairs, but the knee cushions are amply padded. The listed weight capacity is 250 pounds.
The NYPOT Premium Ergonomic kneeling chair offers a back-friendly alternative to traditional office seating, but its 250-lb weight limit is below average, and it has less stability than some competitors. It offers three levels of height adjustment, for a total of about five inches, which is average for office chairs. The knee pad angle is also adjustable. Unlike most kneeling chairs, the NYPOT Premium incorporates a mechanism for side-to-side motion. Material quality is good, with soft, breathable fabric upholstery and firm, durable cushions, but the frame can wobble disconcertingly. As a kneeling chair, it’s not for those with knee problems, but it can be healthier and more comfortable for those who find ordinary chairs give them a sore back.

Compared to the NYPOT Criss Cross cross-legged chair, the Premium Ergonomic Kneeling Chair offers a different design and a wider range of adjustments but is less accommodating for larger users and doesn’t offer a swiveling base. The Criss Cross has a 300-lb weight limit, whereas the Kneeling Chair has a 250-lb limit. The NYPOT is a better choice for users seeking the best kneeling chair.

Compared to the FlexiSpot OC14 office chair, the NYPOT ergonomic kneeling chair has a lower weight capacity of 250 lbs vs. the FlexiSpot’s 300 lbs. The FlexiSpot is a regular office chair with a mesh backrest and 30º of angle adjustment, while the NYPOT is a kneeling chair. Our FlexiSpot OC14 review has the rest of the story.

Compared to the Hag Capisco ergonomic stool, the NYPOT kneeling chair uses a different approach to relieving sitting fatigue. The Capisco represents a third option in the kneeling chair vs office chair debate. The Capisco has 10.5” of height adjustment, compared to the NYPOT’s 5”, allowing it to work better with standing desks. The NYPOT has a rocking motion, which the Håg doesn’t, but the Håg has an aluminum swiveling base, while the NYPOT has an engineered wood base. See our Håg Capisco review for more details.
