The Roborock E4 is an effective vacuum for bare floors, carpets, and pet hair, thanks to its excellent dirt pickup power and great battery life. That said, this vacuum lacks a HEPA filter and smart mapping functions.

Product Snapshot

Overview

The Roborock E4 is a mid-range vacuum cleaner released in 2009, touting smart mapping functionality. However, unlike the best-ranked robot vacuum cleaners today, the Roborock E4 doesn’t have a LiDAR navigation system for mapping specific areas. However, it performs well on hard floors and maneuvers effectively. The Roborock E4 vacuum has a companion app for scheduling, among other useful tools. Weighing about 7.9 pounds, the vacuum is quite portable. However, it doesn’t have a HEPA filter.

Consensus

our Verdict

Thanks to its excellent performance on hard floors, carpets, and pet hair, the Roborock E4 is an excellent option for all floor types and homes with pets. It removes 99.3% of the debris on hard floors, 74.9% on carpets, and captures 86.6% of the pet hair, ranking in the top 25% of the vacuums on our certified tested list. With a runtime of 154.5 minutes, this device is quite effective in big homes.

The E4 has a mobile app and supports Alexa voice control. This 7.9-lb device has a 0.64L dirt cup, and it doesn’t have a self-emptying dock.  It has a Z-shaped navigation pattern but lacks a camera-guided smart navigation system like more advanced models. The Roborock E4 also lacks multi-room or multi-story mapping functions and doesn’t have virtual barriers. If you want to explore more Roborock models, check out our Roborock S5 Max vs S6 comparison.

With a self-emptying docking station and mopping functions, the Roborock Q Revo is better for thorough home cleaning than the Roborock E4, which doesn’t have a docking station and lacks a mopping function. It also uses a 3D mapping system with multi-floor plans, unlike the E4, which relies on a legacy Z-based mapping pattern. Learn more about the Q Revo in our Roborock Q Revo review.

The Roborock E4 performs much better on carpets and runs better on a single charge than the Eufy Roborock 25C. However, the Eufy Vacuum operates more quietly and is more affordable to purchase. Be sure to check out the Eufy RoboVac 25C review to learn more.
