The Rockspace RSD0619 router is great for multiple connections over a large user base, but it has limited parental controls, misses out on anti-malware tools, and doesn’t support the 160MHz channel bandwidth.

Product Snapshot

Overview

The Rock Space RSD0619 is an entry-level router first announced in late 2021. The dual-band router offers coverage for up to 2500 sq ft courtesy of its four antennas, and it also maintains strong connections through its use of Beamforming technology. The router can connect up to 65 devices, and while this is a high number by all standards, top-rated routers such as the Reyee RG E5 can handle even more.

The RSD0619 offers four 1Gbps LAN ports and a single 1Gbps WA port and is powered by a dual-core CPU. It also supports many Wi-Fi 6 protocols, such as WPA3 encryption and MU-MIMO data streaming. Unfortunately, this is not a mesh router and doesn’t offer any smart features.

Consensus

our Verdict

The Rock Space RSD0619 router is an entry-level pick that offers all the pros of WiFi 6 technology plus the ability to handle up to 65 device connections over a vast 2500 sq ft area. This makes it great for small to medium-sized organizations or businesses. The dual-band router is designed to hit speeds of up to 574 Mbps and 1200 Mbps on its 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, which earns it a top 40% ranking compared to other routers.

Installing the router is also pretty easy to do, courtesy of its user-intuitive Rock Space app for iOS and Android. Unfortunately, the app offers basic parental controls that lack age-based filters and usage monitoring. It also misses out on network security anti-malware utilities and doesn’t support the 160 MHz channel bandwidth.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Good connectivity speeds
    • The Rock Space RSD0619 router can reach speeds of up to 574 Mbps and 1,200 Mbps on its 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, making it fit for moderate users. This places it among the top 40% of routers compared to other alternatives in its category.

  • Wide-ranging coverage
    • The RSD0619 offers strong coverage in areas that are up to 2500 sq ft.

  • Easy to use
    • Owners of the RSD0619 will be able to manage & monitor its functioning on the Rock Space app.

Reason to Avoid

  • Limited parental controls
    • The RSD0619 has minimal parental controls and misses out on built-in anti-malware protection.

In terms of connectivity, the Rock Space RSD0619 router hits download speeds of up to 574 Mbps and 1200 Mbps on its 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, while the WRX560 hits speeds of 120 Mbps and 640 Mbps on the two bands respectively. The Rock Space RSD0619 router has four external antennae, while the Synology WRX560 has six internal antennae. However, the Synology router has one USB port, making it different from the RSD0619, which does not have any.
