Consensus

our Verdict

Product testers love the bass-heavy profile and the immersive Dolby Atmos and surround soundstage of the Samsung HW-Q930B, stating that it’s great for movies, music, and TV shows.

TechRadar experts were delighted by the 9.1.4 setup, mentioning that they could discern the precise direction of various objects in surround and Atmos audio, making this soundbar a good choice for games and movies.

Critics from T3 hailed this system’s dedicated subwoofer that produces deep extended low-bass, delivering audiophile-quality music and movies. The soundbar has super-low latency over all the ports, delivering well-synced audio and video feeds.

With a high maximum SPL, this system gets loud enough to entertain in large living rooms. It also has built-in Alexa and a mobile app, providing hassle-free connectivity.

However, if you need a more advanced 11.1.4 setup, see our Samsung HW-Q950A review today.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Incredible sound quality
    • This soundbar is well-suited for movies, TV shows, and music because its balanced sound profile ensures clear dialogue, vocals, and instruments.

  • Immersive surround performance
    • It has a good stereo and surround soundstage, with sounds feeling aptly placed around you, and the Atmos performance is immersive, perfect for action movies.

  • Great voice clarity
    • Voice clarity on this 9.1.4 setup is great, thanks to the well-balanced center channel that delivers clear and accurate voices. Voices are also placed precisely along the soundstage. However, if you need a more advanced 11.1.4 setup, read our Samsung HW-Q950A review

  • Satisfying bass response
    • Although the sound profile is pretty neutral, the bass response is slightly emphasized, which is great for action scenes and some music genres.

  • Excellent smart integration and connectivity
    • The soundbar is compatible with the Samsung SmartThings app (Android and iOS). You can also use vocal commands with built-in Alexa, but there’s no support for Apple Siri or Google Assistant. Inputs include 1 x HDMI eARC, 1 x Full HDMI In, and 1 x Optical audio, and the satellites and subwoofer connect wirelessly to the soundbar. The tested latency over Full HDMI In is 6 ms, which is among the best we’ve seen. Although latency is higher over eARC (49 ms) and Optical (67 ms), the audio doesn’t lag.

Reason to Avoid

  • Non-universal remote
    • You can’t control multiple devices with the remote because it isn’t universal.
