The TV features a 144 Hz native refresh rate and is VRR-compatible.

Consensus

our Verdict

The ultra-premium Samsung QN95C QLED TV offers a captivating combination of cinematic visuals and gaming prowess. Its high 201,000:1 contrast ratio achieves deep blacks, while its responsive 8.25 ms input lag boosts your gaming experience. Additionally, the high 2057 nits tested peak brightness ranks in the top five of our certified, tested TVs, efficiently minimizing glare. But with colors washing out at 29°, off-center viewing becomes challenging.

The QN95C’s 11.5ms response time, 144 Hz refresh rate, and VRR support ensure smooth transitions and tear-free gaming, but blooming is somewhat noticeable. Its expansive color gamut (92.69% of the DCI P3 xy) makes the colors pop. It’s good at upscaling old content, and the included remote has a mic for hands-free control.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Outstanding picture quality
    • The Samsung QN95C QLED TV delivers a superior viewing experience with uniform black levels and vivid colors. Its color gamut, covering 92.69% of the DCI P3 xy, ranks in the top half of our verified, tested products, with vibrant colors and minimal inaccuracies.

  • High contrast and peak brightness
    • With a 201,000:1 contrast ratio, the TV achieves rich blacks, making it ideal for watching movies in the dark.

    • Its high 2057 nits tested HDR peak brightness enables bright highlights to stand out in brightly lit rooms, earning it a spot in the top five of our certified, tested TVs. Moreover, its glossy screen finish effectively lowers the intensity of reflections.

  • Quick response time and low input lag
    • Its 11.5ms response time contributes to sharper, fast-moving images in gaming and other dynamic content. The 8.25ms input lag is responsive enough for competitive gaming, ensuring minimal delay. It ranks close to the top in our verified, tested list.

  • 144 Hz refresh rate
    • The highly responsive 144 Hz refresh rate enables smoother motion transitions during gaming and fast-paced scenes. This TV delivers tear-free gaming with HDMI Forum, FreeSync, and G-SYNC compatibility.

Reason to Avoid

  • Mediocre off-center viewing
    • Colors wash out at 29°, making it less suitable for expansive seating arrangements.

  • Average blooming
    • Although the TV effectively manages blooming by dispersing bright highlights across more zones to reduce their intensity, it can still be occasionally distracting.

The Samsung QN95C QLED TV boasts comparatively higher HDR peak brightness (2057 nits) than the Samsung Q70/Q70T QLED’s mere 637 nits, making it better for bright rooms. With a glossy screen finish, the QN95C QLED TV eliminates reflections in well-lit spaces more effectively than the Q70/Q70T QLED’s semi-gloss finish. Moreover, it features local dimming for better control over the backlighting, while the Q70/Q70T QLED does not.

The Samsung QN95C QLED TV incorporates HDMI 2.1 for higher PC and console refresh rates, but the Hisense U6K lacks this feature. While both allow tear-free gaming with VRR compatibility, the QN95C QLED TV’s higher 144 Hz refresh rate for reduced motion blur outperforms the U6K’s low 60 Hz refresh rate. However, the U6K has a slightly better 10.7ms response time than the QN95C QLED TV (11.5ms). For in-depth coverage, read this Hisense U6K review. And for a small-sized TV from Hisense, read this Hisense A4 TV review.

The Samsung QN95C QLED TV offers a few improvements over its predecessor, the Samsung QN90C/QN90CD QLED. It boasts more dimming zones (1344) for reduced blooming and zone transitions than the QN90C’s 720 zones. Moreover, it has a higher HDR brightness (2057 vs. 1794 nits) and an improved 144 Hz native refresh rate for reduced motion blur than its predecessor’s 120 Hz refresh rate.
