Product Snapshot

Overview

The Sonos Move is a high-end Bluetooth speaker that was first released in late 2019. It is available in either black or white, and it has support for both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The speaker has excellent build quality since it is both water and dust-resistant, making it ideal for outdoor use. Its battery also allows for up to 10.1 hours of continuous playback. Similar to most of the best speakers in the market, the Sonos Move also has support for both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, though it would need a WiFi connection for this to function. It is able to pick up voice commands pretty well, and with a Bluetooth range of up to 334.6ft, its connectivity is at par with that of some of the highest-rated Bluetooth speakers around. This also gives it an edge over the Sonos Five, which only offers WiFi connectivity. We’ve delved deeper into the Sonos Five in our Sonos Five review.

Consensus

our Verdict

Critics praised the Sonos Move for its support for WiFi and Bluetooth and its compatibility with both Google and Amazon Alexa. Product reviewers from Rtings were impressed with its bright sound profile and commended its low bass response. They rendered it great for podcasts and liked that they could adjust its bass and treble. The Sony SRS RA 3000 allows for more sound adjustment because of its graphic EQ, so have a look at our Sony SRS RA 3000 review if that sounds interesting. During their tests, specialists from Sound Guys had an easy time navigating the app and felt that the speaker was great for music listening.

However, testers complained that its sound was distorted at high volume and that its high Bluetooth latency made it inconvenient for watching videos. They also didn’t like its lack of a speakerphone function and inability to play stereo content. The Pohoba EF B210G is a good alternative for those who can’t compromise on stereo sound. Check it out in our Pohoba EF B210G review.
