Product Snapshot
Overview
The SunBrite TV Pro 2 is a high-end, 4K outdoor display announced mid-2020. It is designed to be viewed in direct sunlight thanks to TruVision Anti-Glare technology.
It features a tempered glass display that is impact resistant, adding to its durability in outdoor conditions. The TV is weatherproof, with a built-in heating and cooling system that allows it to maintain smooth operation in high and low temperatures – which isn’t easy to come across, even in the best TVs.
Its remote is also weatherproof, and its powder-coated rust-proof aluminum exterior prevents weather elements from messing with its internal components. Also, with a 1000-nit brightness rating, images appear clear and easily visible.
Thanks to its OptiView day and night modes, the Pro 2 TV’s picture quality can be adjusted and optimized in response to the current prevailing conditions, and its 4000:1 contrast ratio maintains a good balance between blacks and whites.
Consensus
our Verdict
The SunBrite TV Pro 2 is a high-end 4K UHD TV that maintains excellent visibility even in an outdoor setting, thanks to its tested 1000-nit brightness rating, but its 4000:1 contrast ratio doesn’t deliver inky blacks and bright whites.
It’s not for gaming, as it lacks HDMI 2.1 ports and has a low 60Hz refresh rate, despite having one HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 port.
However, its IP55 weatherproof rating helps maintain good functionality even under different weather elements and boasts an 8ms response time for smooth motion.
It also has antiglare technology for superb reflection handling, thereby maintaining great visibility.
Overall, the SunBrite TV Pro 2 is a great outdoor TV that has been designed with a lot of thought into resisting outdoor elements.
ReasonS to Buy
Good picture quality
With a 4K resolution and a 97.4% coverage of the Rec 709 color space, the Sunbrite TV Pro 2 is in the top quarter in terms of color quality as it delivers clear visuals.
Average brightness and good contrast ratio
This Pro 2 TV gets as bright as 1000 nits, and while this is average compared to our certified tested TVs, it still gets bright enough to combat glare. Also worth noting is that even though its 4000:1 contrast ratio is above average compared to other options within our list of certified tested TVs, it still doesn’t deliver the deepest blacks.
Rapid response time
Motion blur is largely insignificant on the Pro 2 TV thanks to an impressive 8ms response time, placing it in the top 20% of its category.
IP55 Waterproof rating
The TV is designed for outdoor use and is thus weatherproofed against harsh elements.
Reason to Avoid
High input lag
Users will experience noticeable delays between gameplay and what is shown on screen because of the TVs rated input lag of 43ms.
No smart functions
There’s no Smart TV functionality for added convenience.

The SunBrite TV Pro 2 and the SunBrite Outdoor TV share many similarities, but they still have a few significant differences. For instance, the Pro 2 has three USB ports while the Outdoor TV only has two, and in terms of brightness levels, the Pro 2 gets a lot brighter since it is designed for total sun exposure. While both TVs are weatherproof, the Pro 2 has a brightness rating of 1000 nits, making it significantly brighter than the SunBrite Outdoor TV, rated at 700 nits. However, if you don’t like the SunBrite brand, you might be interested in comparing alternatives from Samsung, one of which we’ve covered in our Samsung LED Outdoor Full Sun 4K TV review.

The SunBrite TV Pro 2 TV 4K’s lack of smart functions and built-in speakers place it at a slight disadvantage compared to the Sony X80K TV, which has both. The two are also different in that the Pro 2 TV is meant for outdoor use, while the Sony X80K TV is an indoor TV. In terms of color accuracy, the X80K TV takes the win, with a 99% coverage of the Rec 709 color space against the Pro 2’s 97% coverage. Finally, they both have a 60Hz refresh rate, which is pretty low for anyone in the market for a gaming display. An alternative that would work out better for gaming is the Samsung X85K, which has a higher 120Hz refresh rate. Check it out in our Sony X85K review.

The SunBrite TV Pro 2 TV 4K only exists in a 49-inch screen size, which might be limiting to buyers in the market for a very large outdoor TV. On the other hand, the SunBrite Veranda 3 Outdoor TV is available in 55, 65, and 75-inch screen sizes, offering more options for buyers. The two are also different in terms of the HDR formats that they support, as the Pro 2 works with HDR10 content, while the Veranda 3 takes things a notch higher with Dolby Vision support. Also worth noting is that the Pro 2 has a 60Hz refresh rate, while the Veranda 3 offers a higher 120Hz refresh rate. We’ve covered the latter in our SunBrite TV Veranda TV 3 4K Android review if you’re interested.
