The TP-Link Archer AXE75 is an averagely fast, budget WiFi 6e router suitable for smaller homes with moderately intensive data consumption. However, it’s slower than some less-expensive options, and essential security features are subscription-locked.

Overview

The TP-Link Archer AXE75 is a triband WiFi 6e router launched in 2022. Like the best routers, it has 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands, six antennas, and a bandwidth of 0.57Gbps (over 2.4GHz) and 2.4Gbps (over 5GHz and 6GHz) for a maximum combined speed of 5.4Gbps. It has a latency of 60ms and supports MU-MIMO and up to six WiFi streams.

Ports include 1 x Gigabit WAN, 4 x Gigabit LAN, and 1 x USB 3.0. There is WPA3, WPA2, WPA, and VPN support for security, and although not a standalone mesh, it supports mesh networking. Other smart features include a mobile app, voice assistants, and parental controls.

Consensus

our Verdict

The triband TP-Link Archer AXE75 is suitable for moderately data-hungry households despite its slightly slow download speeds of 65.05Mbps (2.4GHz) and 309.1Mbps (5GHz), ranking in the bottom-third of our certified tested routers. However, its considerably faster throughput makes it effective for homes that simultaneously need fast data speeds with reliability and minimal latency (20Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, 918Mbps on the 5GHz band, and 921Mbps on the 6GHz band).

Its 18.3-meter range is great for most two or three-bedroom homes, but internet speeds drop significantly as you move beyond 20 feet away (especially over the 6GHz band). Installation is simple over the mobile app or web browser, with step-by-step instructions provided. However, parental controls and cyber security solutions require a paid subscription.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Good WiFi speeds
    • The TP-Link Archer AXE75 is good for moderately data-hungry households that simultaneously require 4K streaming, AR/VR use, and low latency gaming.

    • Its six simultaneous data streams, low latency, and throughput of 120Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, 918Mbps on the 5GHz band, and 921Mbps on the 6GHz band ensure a reliable connection that doesn’t get slow with congestion.

  • Adequate range
    • Its 18.3-meter wireless range is adequate for two to three-bedroom homes, but it ranks near the bottom of all our verified tested routers.

  • Simple set up
    • Set up is simple and can be done over a web browser or mobile app with step-by-step instructions given.

Reason to Avoid

  • Average download speeds
    • With download speeds of 65.05Mbps (2.4GHz) and 309.1Mbps (5GHz), this router ranks in the bottom third of our verified tested routers list. It will be sufficient for most tasks like 4K streaming, competitive gaming, video conferencing, etc.

  • Limited coverage
    • Moving beyond 20 to 30 feet away from the router leads to a major drop in WiFi speeds, and that’s especially the case over the 6GHz band.

  • Subscription-based security solutions
    • Essential parental controls and cyber security solutions are locked behind a subscription.

The TP-Link Archer AX55 has faster download speeds than the TP-Link Archer AXE75. (The AX55 has speeds of 98.635Mbps over the 2.4GHz band and 485.2Mbps over the 5GHz band. The TP-Link Archer AXE75 reaches 65.05Mbps over 2.4GHz and 309.1Mbps on 5GHz). The AXE75 does have an additional 6GHz band, which can improve network congestion, but its 18.3-meter wireless range is only half of the AX55’s (36.58 meters). The TP-Link Archer AXE75 is a more advanced tri-band router, while the TP-Link Archer AX10 is limited to two bands. The AXE75 is also faster and perfect for homes that have moderately intensive data usage. (The AXE75 has a throughput of 120Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, 918Mbps on the 5GHz band, and 921Mbps on the 6GHz band. The AX10 has a slower throughput of 79Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 755Mbps on the 5GHz band.)

The dual-band Netgear RAX20’s significantly faster download speeds make it more suitable for web browsing and streaming than the Triband TP-Link Archer AXE75. (The RAX20 has speeds of 560Mbps over 2.4GHz and 2.48Gbps over 5GHz. The AXE75  lags behind with 65.05Mbps over 2.4GHz and 309.1Mbps on 5GHz). However, the AXE75 has a much faster throughput, ensuring busy households get fair bandwidth distribution and consistent network performance. (The AXE75 has a throughput of 120Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, 918Mbps on the 5GHz band, and 921Mbps on the 6GHz band. The RAX20 pales in comparison with 100Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 364Mbps on the 5GHz band).
