Product Snapshot

Overview

The TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro is TP-Link’s premier mesh Wi-Fi system, launched in 2022 with the purpose of offering large homes reliable Wi-Fi coverage. This system comes in options with two or three satellites, providing coverage for homes up to 5,500 square feet. Find out how it compares with the best routers on the market today.

The TP-Link Deco Pro has triple bands, including a 6GHz band that can act as a backhaul band. However, it only comes with three LAN ports and lacks USB ports. Its quad-core 1.7 GHz Broadcom processor provides excellent performance, though.

Consensus

our Verdict

The TP-Link Deco XE75 is impressive for home use and will please ardent gamers and streamers. Its excellent 6 GHz download throughput of up to 901 Mbps and 6 GHz download speeds of about 500 Mbps, as well as mesh design, excels for homeowners and small businesses. It comes with a user-friendly mobile app and a web-based interface with the HomeShield suite that enables customizing everything from parental controls to QoS prioritization and advanced security settings.

If you want to know more about the intricacies of modern Wi-Fi, see our comparison of tri-band WiFi 5 vs dual-band WiFi 6. Gamers will be impressed that it has a 2.5 GbE as well as two auto-sensing 1 GbE LAN ports that provide solid connectivity options.

However, the small number of Ethernet jacks and lack of USB ports will be a concern for some. In terms of security, the XE75 Pro tri-band router comes equipped with the useful HomeShield package with parental controls and security software, although advanced settings require a subscription.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Outstanding Wi-Fi performance
    • The TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro provides exceptional performance for gaming. It boasts 5 GHz download speeds of up to 801 Mbps, which reach 900 Mbps on the 6 GHz band, scoring among the top five in its category.

    • Upload speeds with the 6GHz band enabled reached 500 Mbps during testing.

  • Great range and coverage
    • Its range of 5500 square feet is ideal for large homes and has impressive uniform coverage.

  • Intuitive operation
    • The TP-Link Deco XE75 is easy to configure and install thanks to companion mobile apps and a web interface. Users can customize QoS prioritization, parental controls, and security settings.

Reason to Avoid

  • Limited connectivity
  • Although it has a superfast 2.5 GbE multi-gig Ethernet port, its total of three WAN/LAN ports is not ideal. The Deco XE75 also lacks any USB ports.

The TP-Link XE75 Pro features a 5 GHz download speed of 801 Mbps, making it faster than the TP-Link Archer GX-90 with its 280 Mbps average 5 GHz download speed. Being a Wi-Fi 6E device, it has a third 6GHz band, which provides backhaul data, unlike the dual-band GX-90, which lacks 6E tech. See our TP-Link Archer GX-90 review to learn more about the Archer Series device.

Featuring 5 GHz download speeds that average just 140 Mbps, the Vilo Mesh Wi-Fi system is much slower than the TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro, which reaches download speeds of 801 Mbps on the same band. The TP-Link model does have a third 6E band, thanks to Wi-Fi 6E technology, which the Vilo router lacks. Be sure to check out our Vilo Mesh Wi-Fi system review for details about the more affordable option.
